Katy, Texas sits just West of Downtown Houston, Texas along the Interstate 10 Freeway. Katy’s name was derived from the  “K-T Railroad” that traveled through the city many years ago. Katy, Texas is located in three different counties and the population is estimated around 13,833 people and continues to grow at a fast pace. The Texas Medical Center contains 45 medical institutions, including 13 hospitals, 2 specialty institutions, two medical schools,  four nursing schools, and schools of dentistry, pharmacy, and public health. The Texas Medical Center receives over 5 million total visits per year.  Houston Medical Center apartments also cater to college students who attend the nearby Rice University and the University of Houston.  Patients also fly in from all over the world to receive special care and assistance.  You can only imagine the demand for short term housing; and thus a need for apartment living.  Houston Medical center apartments can range from extremely economical apartments to high rise apartment living.  The cheapest medical center apartments will begin in the mid $500’s per month; while some of the most expensive will begin in the $2000 Mosaic at Hermann Park.  The Houston Light Rail also travels through the Texas Medical Center. The Lanesbrough and The Greenbriar are two Houston Medical Center apartments just off the Metro Light Rail.  Both of these apartment homes provide great access for renters who need immediate access to the Light Rail.  The Light Rail is also a fantastic option if you desire to head North towards the Downtown Houston area too. The Museum District is also in close proximity and provides some high end apartment living for those who desire a more luxurious community. The most popular communities in this are the Plaza Museum District, The Esplanade at Hermann Museum Circle, and The Lofts at Hermann Park. The latter community is the only Loft property in the Museum District. Concrete flooring, spiral duct work, and  brick and concrete walls all contribute to the true loft living. Of course the interiors will contain stainless steel appliances and the community amenities will include billiards tables, WiFi, and a state of the art Fitness Center.

Midtown Houston Apartments

Houston Midtown apartments provide some of the most exciting
and popular apartment living in the city of Houston.  An area that had
been dead 10 years ago has become one of the hot spots in the city of Houston.
Young professionals in droves have flocked to this area.  An explosion of
bars, a club scene, and several restaurants has led to its revival.  In
fact Houston Midtown is one of the only areas in that experienced negative
growth in the 1990’s.  There are around 7 Houston Midtown apartments and a
plethora of town-homes that made their way into the area.  And with the influx of residents; the commercial side of things is soon to follow.  A brand new 24 hour fitness and other
commercial businesses have planned or are already in the area to cater to
residents. The cost of apartment living has increased tremendously in the past
few years and continues its upward spiral.  Residents can find one bedroom
apartments homes in the Midtown area beginning in the mid $900’s.  However
several popular apartment communities such as 2222 Smith Street have wait lists
( $1000 +) for one and two bedroom apartment homes.  TheVentana at Midtown
(many consider it not to be in Midtown) lies on the South end of the Midtown
area just North of Highway 59.  It is a luxurious mid-rise and its bright
yellow color makes the apartment complex stand out. It is probably my least
favorite Midtown property as some undesirable people commence their business
just across the property. However; the Metro Light Rail travels adjacent to the
property and will transport rider northward to the Houston Downtown area or
South towards the Texas Medical Center. Interiors feature carpeting or hardwood
flooring. Each apartment home contains a full size washer and dryer and the
Ventana boasts a fitness center as well.

Downtown Houston Apartments

Downtown Houston Apartments provide some the more entertaining life in Houston, Texas.  The majority of the area contains new Loft Style Apartment construction, High Rise Apartments, and some older buildings converted into  Loft apartments for rent. The location is ideal as Downtown Houston is centrally located to the most popular parts of town.  Midtown, The Galleria area, The Houston Heights, River Oaks, and Upper Kirby, are just a few of the more entertaining parts of town, and are all within minutes of Downtown. The main thorough fares in the area are Interstates 10 and 45, Highway 59, and the 610 Loop. Sabine Street Lofts and Lofts at the Ballpark are two very similar new Loft Style communities on opposite ends of Downtown. Both communities offer gorgeous stained concrete flooring in the interiors.  Sabine Street Lofts also offers hardwood flooring.  Full size washer and dryers are standard in both communities.  Other amenities include coffee bars, high speed internet, and fitness centers in both communities.  Lofts at the Ballpark lies on the East side of Downtown adjacent to Minute Maid Park. The only drawback to this community is that the East side of Downtown Houston is not as developed as other parts of Houston.  If you desire a grocery store or shopping you must drive. However Sabine Street Lofts lies on the West end of Downtown. This facility is much closer to the Houston Galleria and other popular areas; hence why it is a little more pricey compared to Lofts at the Ballpark. Post Rice Lofts is another loft property located at 909 Texas Avenue. It may have the best location in Downtown. It is within seconds of the Houston Light Rail which transports riders from the North side of Downtown to the Texas Medical Center. It used to be the old Post Rice Hotel and has been remodeled into lofts. The Lofts contains a concrete flooring and the only main drawback to this property is the lighting in the units; as the windows are smaller than other loft communities.

Houston Galleria Apartments

High rises will start aroung $1300 or $1400; luxury apartment homes will begin around $950+, and you can find normal communities for around $600 +.
