The Application Process
Oct 29th, 2009 by andrew

When you submit your application the apartment community will be preparing a background check on all your information for approval.

Most apartment communities will also require a deposit on your apartment home before they begin the background check. Many apartment renters are always a little hesitant about this process.

Apartment Rental History

The apartment community will check to see if you have any broken leases or there are any charges from any previous apartment communities on your credit. For example, if you left your Champions Houston apartments and had some damages you never paid for, this will come up on your credit. You will need to take care of this so you can be approved. If you have never lived in an apartment community you will be ok as long as they accept first time renters.

Income

You also must meet the income requirements for the community in question. Many properties require 2.5-3.5 times the monthly rent. So if your rent equals $1000 you may need to make $2500-$3500 per month. If you just started a new job you will need a letter from your employer. If you have a job you will just need you W-2 or bank statements if you are self employed.

Criminal Record

If you have a criminal record it will depend what types of crimes you have been convicted of. You will want to speak with your leasing agent. Please read more about Fort Worth Apartments

What is a Steam Mop
Oct 21st, 2009 by andrew

If you have kids or are just looking to play a role in reducing hazardous chemicals in your home or apartment there are a variety of options you have at your disposal today.

One of the first items you might want to consider is a steam mop. There area  variety of steam mops you can purchase and you can get a great one for around $70 dollars. One of the main benefits is that it uses water. You won’t have to use any harmful chemicals. This is very nice, especially if you have any kids or pets in the house. It takes about 30 seconds for the water to heat up. It does get hot so make sure you don’t accidentally spray yourself or anyone else in the area. And it cleans most of the dirt and grime in the house. It is safe to use on your floors so give it a try.

We are all very familiar with white towels. They are very cheap and we can go through several rolls per week. Remember though that these come from trees which must be cut down. There are some alternatives on the market for your use. Try using blue surgical towels to clean your apartments in katy. These are lint free and work extremely well on most surfaces.  The are very spongy and absorb liquids very well. And of course they are re-usable.

There are many great items out there that are environmentally friendly.  All of these resources are extremely helpful. Read more about cleaning Houston apartments downtown.

Renting with Bankruptcies and Broken Leases
Oct 15th, 2009 by andrew

This is usually a very popular question among renters today. And each one has its own set of limitations if you are trying to rent an apartment.

Of course rules regarding rentals are set by the management companies who oversee the property. Or in the case of smaller apartment communities, the owner would set the rules and guidelines.

In the case of a broken lease we have covered that topic extensively. In most cases if you live want to live in a respectable apartment community, you will more than likely have to pay off the remainder that you owe. Most apartment management companies know that if you are unwilling to settle of past debts you would have no problem breaking a lease again.

The Bankruptcy

If you have had to declare a bankruptcy there is still hope for you in regards to renting an apartment home. In our experience a bankruptcy is better than a broken lease in the eyes of an apartment community accepting you. There are different chapters when you file an bankruptcy. And many apartments will just have you increase the amount of your deposit in many cases. They will also look at the number of years it has been since you have declared bankruptcy. Sometimes you don’t have to put any extra money down in some cases. There are many Houston apartment rent to choose from.

Tomball Tx apartments have become popular as of late.

Dogs and My New Apartment
Oct 13th, 2009 by andrew

Dogs can be a major source of frustration and has caused much anxiety among renters who are in need of an apartment and would like to bring their pets with them. Many apartments have two specific rules regarding their acceptance of pets.

Remember that most if not all apartments will allow cats. If you plan on bringing something more exotic with you, please check with your apartment leasing agent or manager before doing so.

If you have an aggressive breed you better stop looking for an apartment in a larger community. With aggressive breeds, there is usually a certain liability that apartments must accept.

What if you were living in your apartment, and one day as you closed your door a dog attacked you. You would not be a happy camper and you might be looking for a responsible party.  Most apartment owners and management companies will want absolutely nothing to do with an aggressive breed.

If you are moving to the Houston area and are searching for an apartment in Houston, there are some other places to look. Try Craiglist or a private periodical. There may be some landlords who might be willing to accept your pet.

Pet Weight

Most apartment communities in Houston will have a pet limit. Many apartments believe that a large dog weights 50 pounds.  If you have ever seen a pet that weights 50 pounds its not much. Apartments really don’t want pets scratching the floors or tearing up the carpets. Of course they will be a little flexible when it comes down to it. So if your pet is 5 or even 10 pounds over the limit don’t sweat it too much. Good luck with your memorial apartments search.
